Pimlican Release R&B Fusion Hit ‘Runaw’y’

Fusing a potent blend of R&B, pop and dance music, musical collective Pimlican have followed up their single ‘B’ck 4 More/P’lya’, with their latest infectious release, ‘Runaw’y’.

Published via Pimlican’s own label, Belgrave Road Records, ‘Runaw’y’ employs a killer vocal hook with a powerful beat and unique instrumentation. It is this sort of well-crafted songwriting that has earned Pimlican airplay on Tim Robinson’s radio 6 show, BBC Introducing and BBC Radio Leeds.

The inspiration for the name ‘Pimlican’ came from spending many nights in Pimlico, waiting for appointments with people involved in the music industry. The idea of the collective is to deliver unique live performances; therefore, anyone can get involved in Pimlican as long as they help evolve the live show, never sticking to a completely rigid format.

‘Runaw’y’ utilises rap to both contrast and complement the strong vocals at play in the track, so it’s a must listen for an urban music fan.

Angie A’s ‘Essex Girl (Professional)’

Layout 1

London based rhythm and blues artist, Angie A, has recorded her fun and upbeat, reality television inspired, jump-jive track, ‘Essex Girl (Professional)’.

Angie’s latest track has a strong rhythm and blues feel to it, taking a sample from ‘Caldonia’ by Fleecy Moore. In addition, the inspiration for the song comes partly from the hit TV show, The Only Way Is Essex and its star, Gemma Collins, but also from the Dagenham girls of the 1960s who fought for women’s fair pay.

However, this is not Angie’s first foray into the world of music. She has appeared on Britain’s Got Talent where she received compliments on her voice from judges, Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan.

On the back of her latest single, Angie is also supporting the #IamanEssexGirl campaign to have the new dictionary definition removed due to it causing offence.

Also a singing teacher in her spare time, Angie’s pin-point vocals have a classic, rich tone similar to the likes of Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Band and Nina Simone.

Alternative Soul SingerSongwriter Adreyn Cash announces the summer release of his new EP featuring two massive tracks

The EP, set for release this summer, will feature his already huge track ‘Anthem’, and the powerful new ‘Tomorrow’ which will be released on March 9th. With a sound resembling that of Lana Del Ray, Cash’s unique tracks ooze passion and innovation.

The single ‘Anthem’, which was released earlier this year, has already had great success. Inspired by his initial struggle with his music career, Adreyn wrote the song to remind himself of his unconditional love for the industry. The EP is titled ‘Rich Girls Don’t Marry Poor Boys’, taking inspiration from ‘The Great Gatsby’, and reflecting that sometimes in life we must put others before ourselves. Adreyn’s EP is about art, creating something that is transcendent, innovative and truly artistic.

Crediting artists including Bruno Mars, Miguel, Prince and Frank Ocean as his inspiration, the EP features a mixture of songs, some which are socially and politically influenced, and some that are about fun and love. It is Cash’s own representation of his world; “I want my music to bring light and knowledge to my generation…painting a picture with my voice and my words”, says Adreyn.

Having studied Commercial Music at Canterbury Christ Church University, Adreyn has applied his knowledge and artistic creativity to produce well written songs with strong vocal performances. With big plans for the future, it is safe to say this extremely talented artist is certainly one to watch.
