We music listeners love to put everything in boxes. If you try this with Homerik though, you’ll most certainly find yourself struggling for words and completely lost in their complex, expansive arrangements as you try to make sense of the auditory rollercoaster you just got on.

Hailing from New York, Ken Candelas (The Mad Composer), Andrew Petriske (The Daemon), and Obed Gonzalez (The Gatherer) have been painstakingly crafting their album over the last three years and the attention to detail has certainly paid off. Their song writing is extremely developed and incorporates musical elements from a plethora of genres and styles, ranging from classical to the darkest shade of black metal, all playing out in an almost operatic fashion.

For fans of Behemoth, King Diamond and Nightwish, their Lead track, A Song of the Night Part 1 is a perfect summation of their beguiling work – effortlessly gorgeous melody intertwined with behemoth-like power, the dimensions they take your mind to are truly thrilling. Their passion for unhinged, challenging art ranges from the traditional gothic to the twisted, epic, video game worlds of God of War, giving you glimpses of the darker sides of humanity before whisking you off to plague-infected pastures new.

Music Theory: ‘Down The Aisle’

DownTheAisle_cover1

No, I know what you’re thinking, but this isn’t a music lesson: Music Theory is an emerging pop artist hailing from Egypt who’s tapped into a classic form of pop music.

Inspired by the likes of Michael Jackson, Maroon 5 and Usher, Music Theory takes elements from all of these artists and uses them to help him in his songwriting process. There’s nothing flashy about what  Music Theory is doing; it’s just good, honest pop music that anyone can get along with.

‘Down The Aisle’ is the quintessential love song; it’ s romantic, heartfelt, all with a catchy tune to boot. Well worth a listen!

The Hallows release gorgeous debut track ‘Element’

The pressing pop debut single ‘Element’, influenced by the likes of FKA Twigs and hints of Kate Bush within the vocals, puts together an alternative sound that is both otherworldly with its synthesised beats and urban with its modern bass.

The captivating and melodic sound of the piano in the beginning creates a sweet yet forlorn song, before picking up in the chorus with the help of the drum beats, making it a more powerful track overall, with the help of the violin at the end of the song. The carefully considered vocals are both haunting and memorable and help to put the track together as a whole.

Speed Autobahn’s Fresh off the Press Thrilling New Single ‘Live it Up’

A fresh, fast paced and high-energy fusion of Electronica dance and Hip Hop reminiscent of artists Pitbull and Florida perfectly describes the fantastic new single by Speed Autobahn.

After the death of a close friend he was moved to create a song in his honour, taking inspiration from his friend’s popular saying ‘live everyday like it’s your last’ he named the track ‘Live it Up’.

“To hear him say, “I don’t do music for the hood, I do music for the world,” had me hype and if you know me you know I don’t need extra energy, but that’s what you feel through his music, energized!!!”

– Shelneka Adams, empire radio magazine

“ I never thought he could combine the styles of EDM and Hip Hop and Take it somewhere past were Pitbull has taken it, no disrespect to Pitbull, but a younger and newer wave”

–  Jay “the Great” Gatsby, The Royal Takeover Radio Show

Currently living in Manhattan, New York Speed Autobahn has been driving audiences so wild that both men and women have ripped their shirts off as they danced and raved. Performing in some of New York’s most famous venues such as Harlem Shrine, Santos House Party, Brooklyn’s Paperbox and also Fame Festival in Atlanta, GA he was introduced to the rapper Fat Joe earlier this year who encouraged him to aim for the skies with his art, saying “ your friends and family are not your fans, focus on creating music that people from all over can appreciate and love”. Having toured with the punk rock band and his producer Danny Switchblade, speaks a lot about the immense quality of music they express together.

In addition to his fantastic accolade his music has been featured on the award winning YouTube web series “Ghetto Nerd Girl” Speed Autobahn is set to tear his way up the music industry.

Turner Brother’s release upbeat single to support England

‘Build us a Dream’ has all the ingredients of a classic England football anthem. A truly high energy vocal , a very strong scent of football spirit and a really catchy sing-a-long chorus. The Turner Brothers believe it can inspire the England Team as it was the England Manager that inspired them.

The Auntie of Anthony and Patrick Turner is Roy Hodgson’s sister. A family gathering at her house is inevitably football orientated with regular discussions on Roy’s team selection and tactics for the forthcoming European Championship.

It was whilst they were at their Auntie’s that Anthony dreamt that he was watching England win the Euros and all the England supporters were singing a song they had written. Anthony told Patrick about the dream and they decided to produce a song as they believed it was a sign.

Every supporter wants to be sitting in the stands watching their favourite team play their best and some may then be inspired to write an England anthem but not many can say that the song was conceived on Roy’s sister’s sofa!

Anthony explains how the brilliant anthem came to life: When you’re surrounded by pictures of Roy Hodgson and listening to fascinating anecdotes of his career, it’s not surprising I dreamt about England winning the Euro, but they were chanting a song that I had never heard before. The next day all I could remember when I spoke to Patrick was some of the melody and ‘Come on England’ . Patrick suggested that we try and realise the vision, by writing a song called ‘Build us a dream’.

Though this track is undoubtedly a rather amusing piece in terms of its origin, The Turner Brothers are on a very serious musical journey having been voted ‘Crowds Favourite Band’ at Hogsozzle Festival both in 2014 and 2015 they are taking on the stage at this year’s Victorious Festival alongside Annie Mac and Manic Street Preachers.

Jolly Mare streams new album ‘MECHANICS’ on Clash

Italian producer Jolly Mare is pleased to finally share his brilliant debut album ‘Mechanics’ on CLASH. Check it out on Soundcloud right HERE.

Fabrizio Martina, the man behind Jolly Mare, is a multi-instrumentalist and champion turntablist, with a master degree in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Vibration Dynamics under his belt. Nicknamed ‘the new face of Italian disco’, he’s currently a full time producer and DJ, taking part in festivals across Europe from Sonar to Harvey’s Discotheque Stage at Bestival. A graduate of Red Bull Music Academy in New York, he has opened acts from Masters at Work to Roy Ayers, worked with the likes of Soul Clap and Thundercat, and has already been featured in the likes of Pitchfork, Mixmag and Okayplayer with his dream-like brand of electro-funk, disco and house.

Jolly Mare’s debut album “Mechanics” was conceived as a conceptual journey through the mechanics of groove and the dynamics of love. Featuring dew-eyed disco jams, Jolly Mare takes you on aural journey through a blackhole of futuristic funk and fresh, twinkling midnight beats – complete with crunchy, choppy bass riffs and plenty of jazzy synth action that’s bound to have you up and dancing. Nowhere is this more evident in album opener ‘Hun’ with its breezy, rolling pulse and ‘Hungry Angry’ with its slow laser descent into an earthy, gritty guitar groove.

Here’s what Jolly Mare has to say about the mechanical concept behind the album:

“Digital years come with misconceptions about rhythm and groove. A ball bouncing on the floor without gravity and friction could go on endlessly. A drum pattern looped into a DAW can be infinitely repeated…forever…generating nothing but alienation to the listener. But once hidden driving forces begin to act, the game comes to life. The ball starts jumping less on every repetition, and drums played by a real drummer transmits something entirely different on every bar and rhythm becomes groove. Same with the relationship between a man and a woman: without romantic entanglements, this can be a sterile, impersonal interaction. It’s love that gives anything meaning.”

‘Mechanics’ is out on 2XLP and digitally 8th April via Bastard Jazz Recordings. Digital copies available.

Profound electro-pop EP ‘Circles’ from up-and-coming singer Francesco, aka 1ofUs

Up-and-coming Italian singer and songwriter, 1ofUs delivers his debut EP, CIRCLES, a stunning electropop record themed around his life’s journey.

Having attempted to pursue a career in music over two decades ago (he was signed to Warner at one point), the artist was forced to abandon his dreams after his project due to ‘reasons not pertaining to the music, regrettably, in the end, never eventuated’.

Pouring his creative energy into a career in Architecture, he opened his own studio in Frankfurt, Germany where he spent the next three years. He then moved back to Northern Italy where he continued to work for the next 20 years projecting buildings and vast urban areas across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Listen to ‘Home’ here: https://soundcloud.com/user-584708832

This long overdue EP sees the artist finally returning to music, reflecting on his experience with a newfound wisdom.

This is the origin of the EP title, CIRCLES,’ he explains. ‘Everything in life comes back somehow, like a circle.

No longer young, CIRCLES nonetheless feels surprisingly fresh in sound, sporting some very flashy and modern electronic instrumentation courtesy of producers Andy Whitmore and Matt Knight. Born on the border between Italy and Slovenia, his music also contains a touch of Italian/Balkan influence. The album was recorded and produced in London. Lead single ‘Home’ takes inspiration from the November 2015 Paris bombings, reflecting on the need for home as a place of peace for oneself and for others. It is a topical and highly relatable song that proves Francesco’s musical relevance and his talents as a lyricist.

As he further explains: ‘the song touches on the difficulties of being free, of loving, of being together, and the fact that this hardship must not stop the journey towards our soul.

A music video is in the works scheduled to be finished by mid-April.
